How to Fix QuickBooks Error – 1601


Solution 1: Insufficient Privileges

•Close the error screen and check if the user logged in is administrator or should have admin privileges.
•Logout the user and login from admin User.

Restart the computer and try to install QuickBooks again. If the error appears then go for the next solution.

Solution 2: Enable Windows Installer Service

·         Go to search and type SERVICES
·         Select Services app and click to open
·         Search and locate Windows Installer Service on the right hand side panel
·         Click to open the service and check for status: Running
·         (If not RUNNING then) Click Start to start the service.
·         Close the services window

Try installing QuickBooks again if the error persists then go for next solution 

Solution 3: Update Windows

When the windows system files get corrupted then the only solution is to check and run the windows update. It automatically checks for corrupted files and replaces them with fresh updated files.
•Go to settings then click on Updates and Security
•Click on Check for Updates to get Windows updated

Restart the computer and try to install QuickBooks again. If the error occurs the dial QuickBooks Error Support team to get the solution for QuickBooks Error 1601.
